Know Your Enemy

If you sincerely love the truth and are actively seeking the truth in your life, you must also know your enemy. Your enemy is real. Spiritual evil is evident in all the atrocities that happen in the world today. Spiritual evil is fierce and ruthless and you must become a soldier of truth to overcome it.  We are all in a continual battle against every kind of evil and darkness whether we know it or not.  If we want joy, peace and happiness, we must do battle with the malice and negativity within and around us all the time.  How can we do this?  It seems overwhelming.

There is Good News! Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, overcame all darkness by dying on a Cross for the forgiveness of sins.  Jesus Christ is the One Who has power over every kind of spiritual evil and He can help us.  The only question is: Will YOU let Jesus Christ help you by accepting Him into your heart and life?

If you accept Jesus Christ into your life and obey His commandments, He will give you the spiritual power you need to overcome evil in your life. Remember that He will not turn anyone away who comes to Him.  Read His Word in the Bible for His instructions on how to live as He did.  If you sincerely love Him and are obedient to Him, you will be able to command evil spirits away In His Holy Name and He will grant you joy, peace and happiness beyond your expectations! He is God and can do all things!

The following are specific instructions from the Bible on how to overcome spiritual evil:

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Take notice that ‘sword of the Spirit‘ is the ‘word of God‘.  Read the Bible every day to feed your soul with wisdom and power against evil. Here is a secret: Proclaim the word of God out loud every morning and every evening and you will witness the power of God’s words in your life!

Here are more instructions on overcoming evil:

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, Who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.  Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.  But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.  Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. (Col 3:1-11).

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Col 3:12-17).

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.  Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrong, and there is no favoritism. (Col 3:23-25).

No one can escape cause and effect.  If you do evil, evil will return to you in one form or another.  If you do good, good will certainly return to you.  Be mindful of this higher wisdom and ignore the ignorance and scoffing of the unenlightened.  God, though His Son Jesus Christ, will give you the victory both in this world and in the next.

God is always ready to help you.  All you need to do is ask.  Yes it is really that simple!  Remember that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Who has ALL power and dominion!  He said: I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And hold the keys of death and Hades. (Rev 1:18)

Jesus Christ is ALIVEJesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ, read His Word every day and do His will and you will be triumphant over every kind of evil!

Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

——

The LORD lives!  Praise be to my Rock!  Exalted be God my Savior!

He is the God Who avenges me, who subdues nations under me,

But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God;

may they be happy and joyful. (Psalm 68:1-3)
