The Real You

If I weigh a CD it probably weighs a few ounces.  If I then take that CD and load a lot of software on it and weigh it again, it is no surprise that it will weigh the same.  The software has no ‘mass’ and so it does not contribute in any way to the physical weight of the CD.

You may be wondering what this has to do with you.

Well if I meet you I cannot see the ‘real’ you, instead I only see the ‘representation’ of you in your physical body, but the ‘real’ you is not tangible: your thoughts and emotions have no ‘mass’.

Herein lies a great lesson: the real you is eternal; that is, your soul and spirit, being intangible, are eternal.  This is a fact whether you want to accept it or not.

Quantum physics states that an atom cannot be split beyond the size of 10 to the minus 33 centimeters. This is called the ‘Plank length’. Beyond that size, it cannot be any smaller and loses what scientists call ‘locality’, that is, it is everywhere at all times.  This is a difficult concept to understand but it speaks to us of the existence of that which is spiritual.

This means that if you are eternal, the important question is: Where will I spend this eternity: in happiness or in misery?

Your eternity will be determined by how you spend your days on earth: if you seek to cultivate peace and joy within yourself you will spend your eternity in that same state, otherwise, you will spend eternity in misery.

You have a free will, but with this free will comes a great responsibility: the responsibility to determine your eternity by how you live your life today!

life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. (Deut 30:19)

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.

Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but

those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:10)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;

knock and the door will be opened to you. (Mat 7:7)

——

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find Him

if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deut 4:29)
