So many of us search for happiness but where is it to be found?

Some believe happiness is having a new car, a bigger home or a larger salary… but is it?

Some may equate happiness with a big family and loving family members… but is that really true happiness?

So many people have all these and still have not found inner joy; instead they still feel something is missing.

I am going to challenge you with this question:

Do you think that happiness, that is, lasting happiness is related to anything temporal in this world?

After all, whether it is family or a new car or any other ‘thing’ that which we cling to, all is in fact very fleeting.

What if I were to tell you there is a better, more exalted happiness… one that lasts beyond this lifetime and is not based on anything in this world?

Do you want to know what it is?

Here is the answer: It is the harmony, peace and joy which you cultivate daily within the sanctuary of your heart.

How can you do this?

By actively applying the wisdom given to you in the Bible and by taking to heart the lessons life teaches you through the situations, people and circumstances in your life.  Life is a learning process in which we make mistakes in order to learn from them.  If you earnestly seek the truth, you will find it.

You are an eternal being whether you realize it or not.  This is a truth that has overwhelming implications.

Your soul is your inner sanctuary and is eternal.

Your soul IS your eternal home.

If you sow peace, harmony and joy in your inner sanctuary, you will reap peace, harmony and joy for eternity.  If you sow discord and negativity, you will reap discord and negativity for eternity.  You will either have a happy, peaceful eternal home or a miserable eternal home.  This is your choice.

This truth is very sobering.

Taking responsibility for our every action is difficult, but not impossible.

If we make a sincere effort to live better lives, it is important to know that we are not alone.  There is One Who created us and desires greatly to help us on this journey.  If we set our priorities according to God’s plan for us, we will reap an eternity of rewards!

It requires great diligence to be vigilant over our thoughts, words and actions but what could be more important than how we will spend our eternity?

Eternity is a long time!

Each day keep this truth in mind: How I spend today impacts how I will spend eternity.

Make every effort to make TODAY a day of peace, harmony, and loving kindness!
