In the book of Revelation, we read about a nation named ‘Mystery Babylon’:
There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. The name written on her forehead was a mystery:
Babylon the great
the mother of prostitutes
and of the abominations of the earth.
I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. (Revelation 17:3-6)
Some people believe Biblical Babylon refers to ancient Iraq.
But if that is true, why do the prophets see Babylon as a nation surrounded by waters? “O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures.” (Jeremiah 51:13)
While Biblical Babylon has plentiful access to waters rich in resources, most of Iraq is a desert and has only a narrow stretch of coastline.
“Babylon ascends to the heavens” (Jeremiah 51:53) and “ascends above the tops of the clouds” (Isaiah 14:14)
Babylon is a “great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!” (Revelation 18:16)
Babylon is hailed as a “queen” and “lady of kingdoms”. (Isaiah 47:5);
According to the Bible, Babylon “reigneth over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18)
It is the “praise of the whole earth.” (Jeremiah 51:41)
It is a place of great riches. “And the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” (Revelation 18:3)
In fact, the Bible clearly states that if something should happen to Babylon, all worldwide trade would stop: “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore.” (Revelation 18:11)
It is called “hammer of the whole earth.” (Jeremiah 50:23)
Babylon becomes proud and arrogant and it does not consider its end. “Therefore hear this now, you who are given to pleasures, who dwell securely, who say in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one else besides me’.” (Isaiah 47:8)
“How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, for she saith in her heart, I sit as queen, and am not a widow, and shall see no sorrow.” (Revelations 18:7)
It is obvious that Mystery Babylon cannot be ancient Iraq.
At the moment, what country is wealthier than the United States?
If you research the richest city in the world, you will see ‘New York’ listed as #1.

Ancient Babylon was a city made great by people who came from all parts of the ancient world. In the same way, the United States is a nation comprised of immigrants from all over the world.
In addition, the name ‘Mystery Babylon’ is deeply symbolic.
The scriptures often refer to Babylon as a woman.
According to the book of Revelation, “she sits by many waters.” (Revelation 17:1)
“The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18)
The United Nations, in theory “reigns” over all the “kings” of the Earth, and its headquarters is situated in New York, the ‘great city’ where you can see the Statue of Liberty. The statue is the most well-known landmark in the United States.
Why is Babylon given the title: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and Abominations of the Earth?
Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, was a mason belonging to the great Masonic Lodge in Paris.
Before beginning the statue of liberty project, Bartholdi was seeking a commission to construct a giant statue of the goddess Ishtar.
The Romans also adopted this fertility goddess but they changed the name to Libertas in Latin (Liberty, in English). Libertas is the mythological equivalent of Ishtar.
Therefore, the Statue of Liberty is, in fact, a statue of Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of fertility, love and sex.
This is why Ishtar was seen by early Christians as the “Whore of Babylon” and that is why the Statue of Liberty, the symbol of America, is called the “Whore of Babylon” in the Bible.
Is it just a coincidence that the United States, the home of the greatest and most famous statue of Ishtar, provides 65% of pornographic movies and adult entertainment to the world?
Is it just another coincidence that this is the country where sexual liberation originated and spread to the rest of the world?
It is not. It is just like the scriptures foretold:
“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (Revelation 18:3)
The United States today has the most powerful economy and military, is proud and arrogant, controls worldwide commerce, has the most developed air force and space program and it is the envy of the world. It houses the “Whore of Babylon”, it reigns over the kings of the earth and has become a land of moral depravity.
The United States is in fact Mystery Babylon, and as you are about to see, in one hour its fate will be sealed.
This is what the Bible says about the great enemy of Babylon:
“For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate.” (Jeremiah 50:3)
“They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land.” (Isaiah 13:5)
“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’ She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” (Revelation 18:2-3)
“In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit enthroned as queen. I am not a widow; I will never mourn.’ Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God Who judges her.” (Revelation 18:7-8)
