God Is In Control

With all the fear and uncertainty today, many people forget that God is in control.
God controls all the events of the earth, just as He controls our very breath.
God clearly states in the Bible:

I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.  (Isaiah 45:6-7)

The Lord brings death and makes alive;
He brings down to the grave and raises up.
The Lord sends poverty and wealth;
He humbles and He exalts.  (1 Samuel 2:6-7)

God is merciful and compassionate but God is also just and righteous.

We read in Exodus:

The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished; He punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.  (Exodus 34 6-7)

The Lord commands us:

Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. (Amos 5:15)

Jesus instructs us:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

God is concerned about truth, justice and righteousness.
When these are lacking in the world, He sends punishments.
My friends, understand that the purpose of these sufferings is for people to REPENT!

God wants people to repent of all their crimes!
God wants people to come to the knowledge of the TRUTH.
This is precisely why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world: to teach them the TRUTH so that by repenting they would know the TRUE God.

So, my friends, do not be surprised at what is happening in the world today.
Many, many people need to repent and turn from their wicked ways and God is giving them one last chance to do so.

This is indeed the last hour and many people are still ignorant of this!
Awake and understand that God wants you to repent of your sins!

Serve the Lord your God, so that His fierce anger will turn away from you. (2 Chronicles 30:8)

Do not fear!
God is only a prayer away!
Go to God with a broken heart because He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him.

“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave behind a blessing—grain offerings and drink offerings for the Lord your God.  (Joel 2:12-14)

Jesus gives us these comforting words:

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”  (Matthew 11:28-30)

Take these words to heart.
Know that what you are suffering, God is suffering with you and He will help you and give you strength through it all.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:4-7)

Repent my friends while there is still time!

Shalom!
