What Does God Want You To Do?

My friend, do you know what God commands you to do?

Let’s look at the Scriptures to find out.

This is what the Lord Almighty says: Administer true justice. Show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other. (Zechariah 7:9)

These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts. Do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this, declares the Lord. (Zechariah 9:16-17)

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:
Administer justice every morning. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or My wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done—burn with no one to quench it. (Jeremiah 21:12)

This is what the Sovereign LORD says:
Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! (Ezekiel 14:6)

I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD.
Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed and get a new heart and a new spirit. For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the LORD.
Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:30-32)

Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless, maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them from the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:3-4)

Loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke.
Set the oppressed free and break every yoke.
Share your food with the hungry and provide the poor wanderer with shelter.
When you see the naked, clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood.
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer. You will cry for help, and He will say: Here am I. (From Isaiah 58:6-9)

If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (From Isaiah 58:9-11)

If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land.  The mouth of the LORD has spoken. (From Isaiah 58:13-14)

If you pay attention to My commands, your peace will be like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. (From Isaiah 48:18)

If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best form the land, but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword. The mouth of the LORD has spoken. (Isaiah 1:19-20)

The man who makes Me his refuge will inherit the land and possess My holy mountain. (Isaiah 57:13)

I am the LORD and there is no other.  (Isaiah 45:18)
I am the First and I am the Last. Apart from Me there is no god.  (Isaiah 44:6)
Before Me every knee will bow!  (Isaiah 45:23)

I, even I, am the LORD. Apart from Me there is no Savior.  (Isaiah 43:11)

I the LORD do not change. (Malachi 3:6)

Return to Me and I will return to you, says the LORD Almighty.  (Malachi 3:7)

This is what the Lord says:

I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15)

Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where is the house you will build for Me?
Where will My resting place be? Has not My hand made all these things, and so they came into being? Declares the Lord.
But on this one will I look on with favor: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit and who trembles at My word. (Isaiah 66:1-2)

My friend, let us tremble at God’s word and obey it, for God’s word will judge us!

Amen.
